B is for boat

Will was sitting on the couch playing with his iPad, well he was actually transcribing videos from You Tube, when I told him it was time to turn it off.  He put it down and walked down the hallway.  I saw him pick up a newspaper hat.  He put it on.  He started puttering down the hallway, holding his arms in front of him, fists closed.  “Babababababa …”  He puttered.

“Boat,” he said.

“Is he saying butt?”  One of my kids asked.

Will puttered around the living room and hallway, driving his boat, in a newspaper hat, wearing only underwear, delightedly for a while.  While we, his adoring public, laughed.  Then Will, catching sight of his reflection in the living room windows, watched himself as well.

In our house the correct question is "Is there only one newspaper hat available?"
