I know I cooked more than Bri does when I was thirteen, perhaps because I didn’t spend all my time texting or on facebook. Last week she “taught” Jake how to make chocolate chip cookies. They were yummy but they made them backwards. I asked her yesterday if she wanted to learn how to make peach cobbler. She didn’t. So, I decided to teach Jake. He is more interested than Bri is in cooking and is more likely to say yes if I ask him. He agreed to help even though he doesn’t like cobbler. Since we were on a roll I taught him how to make spaghetti, too.

Always a bonus when they like it. :-) I enjoy your positive posts; they are a nice antidote to some blogs and sites where it isn't at all pleasant.
Hope you have had a good start to your week. Maybe Bri will be interested in making cake? Cheesecake, even better.
She did actually make a cheesecake the day after thanksgiving -- Will took it outside and dumped it on the grass. Poor girl! Today he made a mixture of cocoa powder, dish washing soap and walnuts. So, as you can see Jake isn't the only one interested in cleaning.
When you stay with us in the summer, you have to make me some pecan pie for me ... it will make me soooo happy :) JD
Cooking. I meant cooking. And yes JD, I'll make pie.
:-) You were probably thinking of all the cleaning their cooking lets you do!
